Geosynthetics for efficient rain water management

Updated: Oct 26, 2022

As a result of increased urbanization and high amounts of paved surfaces, it has become increasingly important to efficiently manage rain water evacuation and collection. Directing rain water in the right direction and allowing it to infiltrate the ground, protects our housing and makes sure ground water levels are maintained.

Geosynthetics are an indispensable part of such structures. They are used as wrapping layer in drainage channels and in underground infiltration systems. In these systems, they act as filters, allowing water to pass through into the drainage or infiltration system, while prevent soil and dirt from entering. This avoids contamination of the systems and increases the lifetime and the performance of the system.
