Mining

A wide variety of geosynthetic products are used in both open pit as well as underground  mining, as well as in the infrastructural and environmental applications in this sector.

  • Open Pit mining: In open pit mining (or open-cast mining) the rocks or minerals are extracted from the earth by their removal from an open pit. Normally this method is used when the material wanted are found near to the surface. (No case studies)

  • Underground mining: In underground mining the materials are extracted from the enclosing rock strata by underground mining methods, such as room & pillar, long & short wall or in situ gasification (no case studies)
