Capillary break drainage composites are designed specifically as a drainage void layer to protect the ground above from the capillary rise of moisture from below. In desert or arid regions such capillary break composites are used as a salt barrier to prevent saline water rising to the surface and causing problems in clean cultivated soils. By protecting these soils, the products directly support the second UN SDG aiming at zero hunger.
